Spend the day doing local sightseeing after breakfast. Munnar, which is 1600 metres above sea level, is located at the meeting point of three mountain streams: Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundale. This majestic highland station was where the British administration spent their summers in South India. Local sightseeing sites in Munnar include Kundale Lake, Echo Point, and Mattupetty Dam. Head to Rajamalai in the afternoon to view the "Nilgiri Thars," the rarest type of mountain goat. An overnight stay in Munnar is scheduled.

Check out of the hotel and drive to Kumarakom after breakfast (05 Hrs Drive). Register at the hotel. The afternoon is spent going on local sightseeing excursions in and around Kumarakom, a little backwater settlement nestled on the western shores of the Vembanadu Lake. The backwaters cover an area of 900 square kilometres. Choose a houseboat, motorboat, or canoe to discover the best attractions of this backwater paradise. An overnight stay in Kumarakom is planned.

After breakfast, check out of the houseboat or hotel and make your way to Cochin Airport or the train station (depending on your point of departure), where you may catch your flight or train home after a lovely vacation in God's Own Country.
